Anchor Families' group homes are licensed by the State of Indiana Division of Families and Children to provide therapeutic services to children ages 6 to 21.

Referrals are accepted for both emergency and long-term care. Most children referred to placement have experienced abuse, neglect, rejection, deliquency, trauma, disturbance of behavior or family breakdown.

Anchor Families' Residential Programs utilize a behavioral approach to shaping behavior while providing a safe, stable environment in which a child can flourish. A level system is utilized in order to teach accountability and provide consistency and boundaries. A strong component of the group home for children of all ages is in the area of independent living skills training.

Many residents of our residential programs discharge into our semi-independent transitional house (The Windmill), or our scattered site apartment program (Anchors Away).
